This is not for beginners.
5.9mi Length Out & back

The top of Balsam Lake Mountain is a stunning one. The fire tower at the summit provides 360-degree views of the surrounding mountains. There is also a ranger cabin at the summit. The trail is a steady climb for about 3 miles until you reach the summit. The forest transitions from one dominated by hardwood trees to a pine forest as you get higher in elevation. The Catskills are known for rattle snakes and caution is to be taken on these trails. As they will likely be out.
Discover this 5.9-mile out-and-back trail near Arkville, New York. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 56 min to complete.

This is my last fire tower for the Fire Tower Challenge.
