Navidad River-Lake Texana Hike 10.5Miles

Join us to explore Texana park, Lake Texana is a reservoir on the Navidad River, 8 miles east of Edna, in Jackson County, Texas. The reservoir is formed by the construction of Palmetto Bend Dam. The dam and lake are managed by the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority, and supply water to surrounding communities and industries. It has been several years since the group has hiked their.

Carpooling recommended. The park is about 1.5 hours from central Houston

Gathering Place: After you enter the Texana Park gate and pay the entry fee, turn right toward the Nature Center and day use area. The group will gather near the Nature Center.

The Hike: The first part will be about 5.5 miles covering most of the trails in Texana park then we'll cross the the main road for a 5 mile circuit of Brackenridge Park.
