About us
We are a Brighton community for anyone interested in how digital technologies and software products impact the planet. We run regular talks, workshops and roundtables always with pizza and drinks provided.
We are very proud to be sponsored by Green Software Foundation and Silicon Brighton.
Silicon Brighton are a community driven organisation putting our City on the map as a technology hub and spotlighting the region for talent and investment.
Green Software Foundation is a non-profit creating a trusted ecosystem of people, standards, tooling and best practices for green software. They aim to change the culture of building software across the tech industry, so sustainability becomes a core priority to software teams.

Who's Going to Save Us From the Energy Use of AI? You Are.
·HybridRunway East, Runway East, York And Elder Works, 50 New England St, Brighton, BN1 4AW, Brighton and Hove, GB"Climate change: I say the debate is over. We know the science, we see the threat and we know that the time for action is now" - Arnold Schwarzenegger
Forget Skynet. Right now, AI's greatest threat to humanity is its demand for electricity. Anne Currie, co-author of O'Reilly's Building Green Software, will talk about why the energy demand from AI has exceeded anything we've seen before in tech; how that demand can and is being met using efficiency and flexibility by forward thinkers like Google and DeepSeek; and what you can do from your own desk that might have global impact on both the AI and the renewable power revolutions.
Anne will be joining us remotely.
Check out the Green Software Brighton website for links to previous talks.
Arrive from 18:00 for pizza and drinks. Talk will start at 18:30. We always head for a drink and a chat locally afterwards too.
Thank you to Runway East for use of their space to host our events and to Silicon Brighton and the Green Software Foundation for supporting us.
