Potential WordCamp Event Exploration Meeting

Details
Is it Time for a Greenville / Spartanburg WordCamp?
Is the time right again for in-person events? Could a WordCamp be held in the Upstate again? What would it take? What would the first steps be?
Everyone is welcome to this open discussion. In particular, we are very interested in hearing from anyone who has organized or been a part of other WordCamps locally or elsewhere.
We look forward to discussing timing and location and hearing about the historical impact that previous pre-COVID WordCamps had on the local area.
Time permitting, we may also discuss the feasibility of a BarCamp or any other similar tech event that is focused less on programming and more on business, content, design, AI, and marketing.
Clifton was the organizer for the previous two WordCamps in Greenville before Covid and would love to hear from everyone and anyone that might be interested in attending one in early 2026. He can update all of us on when this could happen and how.
Clifton is an experienced front-end web developer and designer with nearly 20 years of expertise in creating SEO-friendly, visually engaging websites. Having worked on over 200 projects, Clifton specializes in delivering user-focused designs and integrating cutting-edge technologies, including AI and WordPress enhancements.
However, the new co-organizer Corey Creed is available also. Corey has spent over 20 years as an entrepreneur and marketer. He's created and sold online businesses and is thrilled to start meeting more locals.
Corey is looking forward to interesting conversations with anyone that wants to leverage WordPress, AI, Google, and other opportunities to start or grow their business.
This meeting will be at a great little coffee and ice cream shop called "Spill the Beans". (How appropriate!) They have plenty of room and are happy to let us use their fantastic facility. We hope you'll join us in supporting them by getting something delicious while you are there.
In the future, we'll be open to finding locations that might be better suited to larger groups and/or lectures. Please also let us know if you have any ideas for locations, topics or speakers. Feel free to reach out to Clifton or Corey.
See you then!
