What we’re about
This group comprises motorcyclists who like to ride with other motorcyclists. We are not "bikers." Our emphasis is on riding, camaraderie, scenery, and discovery. We are uninterested in biker "culture," motorcycle brands, bureaucracy or costumes. We just like to RIDE, and the more topographical variation, the better.
We are open to all levels of riders of motorcycles, scooters and three-wheelers as long as they have basic competence in safety and handling. Our rides range from "easy-going" to "spirited," and some are more challenging than others. Our ride descriptions are indicative of that.
Most events are day rides of 75-to-200 miles, but we seek a diversity of rides that appeal to all kinds of riders. Several times annually we also include multi-day rides that may traverse several states or include motocamping. If there's someplace you want to go, please volunteer to become an Event Organizer and lead a ride there. If you plan it, they will come!
RULES OF PARTICIPATION:
(1) TUNE IN: Activate your email and mobile notifications in Meetup so that you know about our rides.
(2) STAY ACTIVE: Check the our Meetup page regularly and participate in at least one ride annually. Inactive members will be removed from the group, without prejudice, to make room for others. You may reapply once you are ready to start riding again.
(3) DON'T HOARD RIDE SPOTS: Do not sign up for a ride unless you have high confidence in participating. Life happens and we all have to cancel at the last moment sometimes, but repeated cancellations may limit your ability to participate.
(4) BE CONSIDERATE OF THE ORGANIZER AND OTHER RIDERS: We have little patience with "No Shows." One “No Show” status will result in a warning. Two “No Shows” will result in your removal from the group. Also, don't be "that rider" who is never ready to depart when everyone else is, or runs out of fuel because of failure to fill up when the rest of the group does.
(5) BE SAFE AND HAVE FUN! Motorcycling is a risky activity, and you are entirely responsible for the decisions you make regarding your riding gear and your riding style, but activities that place other riders at risk cannot be tolerated. Also, riders ride with others because they enjoy the social aspect. Be the someone that other riders want to be around.
