Start the Year off Right! A Walk in Nature with Friends!

We will celebrate the first day of the new year doing what we love, hiking in our beautiful forest with good friends, old and new and joining together for a meal of lucky blackeyed peas!

We will start hiking at exactly 10:15 am from the parking lot inside the park. Walking over to start our hike on the Florida National Scenic Trail for a mile until it crosses the Blackwater River. Then we will hike the lovely chain of Lakes Trail for about 2 miles. Then we will walk back to Pavilion #23, about a mile, to have a bowl of blackeyed peas, corn bread and hot cocoa! We welcome all to join us and only if you wish you can bring food to share.

Blackwater River State Park is one of my favorite places to visit and enjoy nature, please come and make my New Year's Day complete!
