De quoi s'agit-il
The Appalachian Mountain Club (“AMC”) is one of the oldest outdoors groups in the United States. We offer activities for all types and levels of outdoor enthusiasts, including hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, bicycling and more!
AMC has 12 regional chapters in the Northeast region that stretch from Maine to Washington, D.C. The New York-North Jersey Chapter is the second largest with over 12,000 members. We have over 100,000 members nationally.
Young Members (“YM”) is an affinity group within AMC for members in their 20’s and 30’s. YM holds monthly outdoors events (e.g., day hikes, camping trips, kayaking trips) and a happy hour on every third Thursday of the month (“Thirsty Third Thursdays”). A few times a year, we hold inter-chapter events with YM groups from the 11 other chapters in our organization.
If you’re interested in the outdoors and are looking to make new friends, then please come to one of our events. Please note that we’re open to everyone, including “non-members”!

Tout voir- 20'S AND 30'S BREAKNECK RIDGE TO COLD SPRING (STRENUOUS)Emplacement requis
Please register at the AMC website using the following link:
20s & 30s Breakneck Ridge to Cold Spring (Strenuous)
This will be a strenuous 8-10 mile hike from Breakneck Ridge to Cold Spring. For those traveling by train, please take the 8:50am train from Grand Central Terminal and get off at Breakneck Ridge train stop. We will gather at the breakneck ridge trail head right by the train station.
For those driving I recommend parking at cold spring train station and taking the same train (which will be at that stop at 10:14 AM) one stop north to breakneck ridge as there is free weekend parking at the station but parking may be tough by the trailhead.
Please bring enough water and snacks for the hike.
Once the hike is over we will head to Cold Spring for Ice Cream and can head back from the Cold Spring train station.
If you are running late and need to reach me, my number is (914) 525-0770.
