What we’re about
There's a vibrant music scene in the Fox Valley Area!
Don't miss out on the action!
There are OPEN MICS just about every weeknight, and LIVE MUSIC in towns all down the Fox River. Chicago is great, but there's awesome local talent playing right down the street this week!

This group is for anyone who loves listening to or playing live music.
Whether you have gigs regularly, or are just starting out, we wanna build a solid community of musicians who support each other, share opportunities, collaborate on projects, have fun jamming, and for their fan base who support them to find their next favorite night out.
This is a place to post events, gigs, open mics, and generate attendance at each other's shows. Invite everyone out to local live shows and open mics, host open jam nights, and coordinate carpooling if need be.
We would love to hear your ideas, too!

See all- Ambient Sound Bath MeditationZen Loft Collective, Batavia, IL
Art Harder is offering an Ambient Sound Bath Meditation at Zen Loft Collective in Batavia, IL. This secular sound bath experience is meant to reduce stress by acting as a meditative catalyst as a means to deactivate your sympathetic nervous system's stress response via activating your parasympathetic nervous system. We’re accomplishing this with a combination of clinically promising vibratory patterns, light breath work, and of course lovely ambient music.
For the layman, you’re going to lay down and try your best to meditate and we’re going to play music that makes it easier than if you were to try it on your own. This event is designed to be accessible to first time meditators as well as useful for seasoned mystics.
The vibratory patterns we're utilizing act as a catalyst for meditation and doing a long meditation like that will activate your parasympathetic nervous system (that's the one that helps you chill out and let's your internal organs function properly). Your sympathetic nervous system is the one that is active when you're drinking coffee and getting stuff done. It does so by diverting power away from your internal organs tho... and you totally need those. Think of it like yin and yang, a balance between doing stuff in the world and doing stuff in your body. If you don't get some time away from your stress response you'll end up slowly wearing yourself down and then you'll have to spend all that money you stressed yourself out by making on treating chronic stress based illnesses. Instead you could give some local musicians a small amount of money to pile drive your stress response and activate your vagus nerve. So if you've been feeling chronically stressed and sleep deprived, why not give it a shot!
This sound bath will be performed by Art Harder and the Projector Project, an art collective out of the Western Chicago Suburbs. This sound bath meditation will feature Ryan Caldwell (singing bowls, crystal organ, synthesizer), Matt Kopecky (Drums and Percussion), and Phil Chester (Electric Bass). This sound bath will have a strong emphasis on low frequency content, percussively measured breath work, and quadrophonic bowl entrainment. This means that your body will be wiggled by bass notes, you’ll be breathing with the drums, and we’ve found a way to make the room feel like it’s inside a singing bowl.
Come have a soak in our sound bath. All you’ve got to lose is stress!
