What we’re about
Meet like-minded people interested in meditation near you! Learn how to meditate or deepen your current meditation practice. A trademark of the meditations we emphasize is the ease in which they can be used both "on the cushion" and in our daily lives. Each meeting will include practical meditation, and a talk on how to reduce stress and other problems encountered in daily life and how to increase mental and physical well-being. There will also be plenty of time to discuss the ideas presented. Although the meditations and talks are based on Kadampa Buddhist philosophy, you don't need to be a Buddhist to enjoy this group. Kadampa Buddhism stresses a spiritual path of individual transformation and to look within ourselves for the inner peace and happiness we seek. Everyone is welcome!

In our busy, complicated modern world, difficult situations and conditions are almost impossible to avoid. What is our response to these problems we see all around us? Discouragement, helplessness, fear, grief, rage…?
In his teachings on training the mind, Buddha explained many methods for transforming challenging conditions into causes of spiritual growth and development.Using the inspiring book, The New 8 Steps to Happiness, by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Namdrol will explain and guide meditations on the practice known as “transforming adverse conditions into the path.”
Through this training, rather than feeling discouraged by all the problems and pain we see around us, and experience within us, we discover a capacity to use these difficulties to empower our minds. The result is that instead of feeling stuck and helpless, we gain an inner ability to transform adversity into powerful, positive states of mind, such as love, compassion, and joy. This power enables us to not only grow spiritually but also to become a positive influence in our workplaces, families, communities….the world. Please join us for Sunday Morning Meditation. Each class is self-contained and includes a talk and 2 guided meditations. You can register online or just drop into the class on any Sunday morning. Please stay after the class for coffee, tea, and time to connect with others in our growing community. Everyone is Welcome – No experience needed.
