What we’re about

Hi Dancers!
It's time for Wanna Dance Flash Mob to plan our next series of practice sessions and actual flash mob event! Yay! See below for details.
We hope that you'll be part of our flash mob format line dance events!
For those who are new, first we learn easy to medium level, upbeat and inspirational line dances together, in practice sessions over a two month period. Then we perform the dances! A flash mob, for those who are unfamiliar with the concept, is a planned performance that appears to be spontaneous and therefore has a wonderful surprise element to it. Anyone who enjoys dance is welcome. The purpose of the event is to bring the community together through the joy of dance.
Please join the events that you can attend as they are posted so we can know the group size. Family and friends are welcome, just let us know how many.
We will perform three dances this time: Jerusalema, Rock Me or Wagon Wheel (to the song Wagon Wheel) and Dance With Me Tonight.
We will perform them in two locations in downtown Napa that are in walking distance of each other.

The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, March 1, 1:00 pm 1st practice
Saturday, March 22, 1:00 pm 2nd practice
Sunday, April 6th, 1:00 pm 3rd practice
Sunday, April 27th, 1:00 pm 4th and final practice

The Practice Sessions are held at Shenandoah Park in American Canyon.
100 Sonoma Creek Way, American Canyon, CA 94503
There are two covered areas to choose from so, we can practice rain or shine.

Actual Flash Mob Event, Saturday, May 3rd 2:00 pm

1)First we'll meet up at 2:00 pm at
1300 First Street, Napa, CA

  1. 2)Secondly, we'll walk to Veteran's Memorial Park, 800 Main St. for the second performance, followed by picture taking by the river:) Veteran's Memorial Park is on the corner of Main and Third Streets.
    3) If you'd like, we can go to Downtown Joe's for a refreshment after, to celebrate our success!
(It's right next to Veteran's Memorial Park)

Please find links to samples of the dances as well as instructional videos below. We find that while the in person practice is beneficial, lots of home practice is needed to develop the muscle memory for the steps.

  1. Jerusalema, was written by South African singer Nomcebo Zikode. It is sung in isiZulu. The dance is created by Angolan dance troupe Fenómenos do Semba.
