What we’re about

There is nothing more satisfying, challenging and revealing as sculpting a live model.
As far back as we can go in human history to find artistic expression, there has always been the depiction of the human form.
Experiencing the artistic take on what it is to be human, is visceral and immediate, both in creating the art object and viewing it.

Beginning and continuing sculptors are invited to sculpt from a live model for six or more 4 hour sessions (the model will be posing for 3 hours).
For those interested, we will start with a guided demonstration in building an internal armature. The focus of instructional help will be on proportions and anatomy. We will conclude the class by preparing the sculpture for firing it in the kiln.

The class will be conducted at Fort Masson Campus, through the Continuing Education department of CCSF.
