### 🏞️ Saturday: Canyoning in Barranco de Cucales & Wild Camping

IMPORTANT: This event is for those who have completed the Canyoning Skill Day or have autonomous experience.

Barranco de Cucales is a semi-dry canyon located near the village of Catamarruch, Alicante. The descent features 12 rappels, with the longest measuring 23 meters. Some sections may require wading through water, but it will be less than knee-high—perfect for wearing shorts and bringing a towel. The approach takes approximately 25 minutes, and the descent lasts about 2–3 hours. The return is short, around 40 minutes.​

Jota’s Take: Barranco de Cucales is one of those canyons I've been meaning to do for ages. It has a great mix of challenges, from tight gorges to deep pools, and it’s the perfect balance of adventure and technical skill. I’m really excited to finally lead it as an official event. Plus, with all the foliage around, it’ll definitely add some extra character to the day. A little bit of overgrown greenery never hurt anyone—right?

Join us for an exhilarating adventure as we tackle the Via Ferrata L'Aventador, a thrilling and vertical route located near Xàtiva. This K3 rated ferrata is known for its sustained verticality, widely spaced iron rungs, and a final overhanging section that will test your mettle. The route demands both physical strength and mental fortitude, making it ideal for those looking to push their limits. While the ferrata is relatively short at 90 meters, it offers an intense and rewarding experience.

Jota's Take:
L’Aventador is one of those routes that keeps you on your toes from start to finish. It’s short, steep, and full of character. The final overhang is a proper pumpy finish, and last time I was there, a couple of staples had a bit of movement—not by design, of course—but it added a bit of spice without making things dangerous.
What I really like is how much you can do with the day: climb the ferrata, cool off with a swim, hike up to the Black Cave, or (like I’ll be doing) bring your gear and try out some of the nearby climbing routes. Honestly, bring a picnic or an ice box with some chilled beers and olives—it’s one of those places where you’ll want to hang around after the action.
This event can be combined with an overnight stay at the Aparcamiento Vía Ferrata L'Aventador campsite, making it the perfect weekend adventure!

Únete a nosotros para un emocionante día de aventura mientras nos enfrentamos a la Vía Ferrata L'Aventador, una ruta vertical y desafiante ubicada cerca de Xàtiva. Esta ferrata, con una dificultad de K3/K4, se caracteriza por su verticalidad sostenida, grapas ampliamente espaciadas y un tramo final desplomado que pondrá a prueba tu resistencia. Aunque la ferrata es relativamente corta, con 90 metros, ofrece una experiencia intensa y gratificante.​

Opinión de Jota:
L’Aventador es una de esas ferratas que te mantiene alerta de principio a fin. Es corta, vertical y con mucha personalidad. El tramo final desploma y te saca los brazos, y la última vez que estuve, un par de grapas tenían algo de juego—no es lo ideal, claro—pero le daba un toque más emocionante sin dejar de ser segura. Lo mejor es todo lo que puedes hacer en el día: subir la ferrata, darte un baño en el río, hacer una caminata hasta la Cueva Negra o, como haré yo, llevarte el equipo de escalada y probar alguna de las vías cercanas. Y la guinda: llévate un picnic o una neverita con cervezas frías y aceitunas. Es uno de esos sitios donde apetece quedarse un buen rato después.
Este evento se puede combinar con una estancia nocturna en el camping Aparcamiento Vía Ferrata L'Aventador, ¡perfecto para una aventura de fin de semana!
