Brett Carson leads the Substandard Quartet, a group dedicated to the tried and true tradition of the jazz standard, but with a focus on the unconventional and esoteric. Their repertoire eschews the typical "standard" in favor of music from B-movies, video games, stock music, retro commercials, punk rock, contemporary classical music, and avant-garde/free jazz classics, all rendered with virtuosity, quirk, and creative exuberance.

https://registrations.planningcenteronline.com/signups/2788028Our Breath and Spirit half-day spiritual retreat will focus on cultivating the resources of inner peace. Understanding how we can bring resources to our own hearts is a vital way we can stay tenacious, persistent and engaged. Through meditation, reflection, song, chant and art, we will remind ourselves of the rich troves of inner strength we have within our own hearts and which can be a lifeline in these times.
If you have attended a retreat in the past, please regift yourself with the gifts of silence and contemplation and spiritual focus. If you have not attended before, try out this non-threatening, peaceful space for contemplation and connection with others seeking the gifts of the spirit.
We will be on campus in the Bortin Hall, starting at 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
