Esta ruta circular comienza y finaliza en Alora, un pueblo encantador a unos 40 minutos en tren de Malaga. La ruta sigue el sendero PR-415 y esta bien senalizado. Es en su mayor parte llano, aunque hay algunos descensos y ascensos empinados ( unos 500 m de desnivel). La caminata nos lleva a lo alto del monte Hancho y, por el camino, podremos apreciar las vistas desde dos miradores, asi como otros puntos destacados relacionados con la historia de Alora.
Despues de la caminata si tenemos energias y hay tiempo podemos visitar el Castillo de Alora, que cierra a las 6pm. Alora es un pueblecito muy bonito y los que queramos aprovechar el buen tiempo podemos descansar y tomar algo en alguna terraza o pasear por el pueblo.
Hay trenes a Malaga con regularidad desde Alora, solo tenemos que fijarnos en la hora porque no son muy frecuentes, pero el ultimo es a las 22:45pm.
Difficultad: Media-alta (llano en la mayor parte, pero hay ascensos y descensos empinados.
Punto de encuentro: Estacion de Renfe de Maria Zambrano, Malaga, junto a las maquinas expendedoras de tickets.
Hora de encuentro: 9:15am, para coger el tren de las 9:42am a Alora. El tren llega a Alora a las 10:25am, y alli nos reunimos y comenzamos la ruta.
Hora de finalizacion: A partir de las 4:30pm. La ruta en si es de unas 5 horas, a las que hay que anadir paradas para descansar y comer.
Que llevar: botas de senderismo buenas y comodas, protector solar, agua (al menos 2 litros pero recomiendo 3-4 litros si hace sol) y comida para el dia. No hay sitios donde comprar agua o comida en la ruta pero podemos encontrar algun sitio en Alora donde comprar agua, cafe o comida. Por favor traed una bolsa de plastico o algun contenedor para tirar restos, no hay papeleras en la ruta.
Coste: La tarjeta de tren cuesta 10€ y cubre la red de Proximidad cerca de Malaga durante 4 meses. Aparte de eso necesitaras dinero para pagar por la bebida y comida que quieras comprar en Alora.
This circular routes starts and finishes in Alora, a charming town about 40 min by train from Malaga. The route follows PR-415 and is well signed and the path is mostly flat with some steep ascents and descents. (about 500 m between higher and lower points).
It will take us to Monte Hacho top and on the way we will be able to appreciate the viewpoints from two miradores, as well as other milestones related to the history of Alora.
After the hike if people have energy and we have time we can visit Alora Castle (Castillo de Alora), which closes at 6pm. Alora is a very nice town and those of us who want to take advantage of the weather can rest and have a drink in any of the bars with outdoors area or walk around the town. There are regular trains to Malaga from Alora, we just need to be mindful of the time as they are not very frequent, but last one is at 22:45.
Difficulty: Medium-high (mostly flat but there are some steep ascent and descent).
Meeting point: Estacion de Renfe (rail station) Maria Zambrano, Malaga, by the ticket machines.
Meeting time: 9:15am, to catch the 9:42am train to Alora. The train arrives at Alora rail station at 10:25am, where we will assemble and start the walk.
End time: from 4:30pm. The route itself takes about 5 hours, to which we need to add breaks to rest and have lunch.
What to bring: good and comfortable hiking shoes, sunblock, at least 2 litres of water (but I recommend 3 or 4 litres if it's sunny), and food for the day. There are no places to get water or food during the route although we start and finish in Alora, where we can buy water, coffee and food if needed. Please bring a plastic bag or a container for any waste as there are no bins on the route.
Cost: Rail travel card is 10€ and it will cover all trains in the Proximidad network for 4 months. Apart from that you will need money to pay for any drink or food you want to buy.
