We will delve into the challenges facing government program owners, hear from leaders in research & design, access research from academics, talk with providers serving public sector clients, and offer tangible outcomes for practitioners. With our May Meetup on the 7th of May, we are excited to announce our next speaker. We will be hearing from Human Centred Design Practitioner Amanda Phillips. Amanda will be sharing practical ways to apply the Digital Service Standard ahead of the June 30 deadline, drawing on real-world examples and offering actionable tips for overcoming common blockers.
Amanda Phillips is a digital strategist with over 20 years’ experience improving public services across government. She’s led major transformation programs in high-stakes, highly regulated environments, helping teams bridge complex user needs with practical technology solutions.
Amanda’s work spans everything from business case design and legislative rollouts to building new digital services. She’s delivered measurable outcomes across sectors including health, disability, agriculture, and compliance.
Amanda supports agencies through the full service lifecycle—from discovery to delivery—embedding user research, accessibility, and agile ways of working. Her inclusive approach ensures digital services are not only compliant but truly human-centred.
