a philosophical problem called Evil, a theme dealt extensively in the history of philosophy. Beyond the obvious considerations of what can be unanimously called evil, the permanent presence of unnecessary and humanly caused suffering, has triggered a permanent reflexion on what lies beneath this state of affairs. Philosophy first and other disciplines later, mainly psichology, have invested heavy thinking on confronting "the devil" to try to understand it, and therefore, control it.
