See all- Tech Talks: Orchestrating Data Pipelines with DagsterThe University of Adelaide, Adelaide
Hi Adelaide Pythonistas,
I am excited to announce the May 2025 meeting.
Data Engineering is back to the tech talk.
Theo Visan will talk about Wrangling messy data pipelines, a thing that Data Engineers or Data Plumbers do all the time.
Speaker Profile:
Theo Visan: Data Engineering Technical Lead at MaxMine. He is responsible for building and maintaining their data platform using Snowflake, dbt and Python amongst other technologies with a focus on scalable, production-grade solutions leveraging AWS and K8s.
Wrangling messy data pipelines? Discover how Dagster can be used to produce maintainable, observable and testable workflows without losing the flexibility of Python. This talk covers how Dagster works, its core concepts and the key benefits it introduces such as built-in lineage and modular design. We'll explore when it makes sense to integrate tools like this into your data platform and wrap up with practical lessons learned from real-world use.
