What we’re about
We are one of the longest-standing meditation Meetup groups in the valley. We meet every Thursday night from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. to reflect on Buddha's core teachings and meditation practices. Every session includes guided meditation and mentoring to improve your spiritual journey to inner peace.
Our friend NT Hettigei, who has practiced meditation for over 50 years, shares his firsthand experience of Buddha's Core Teaching of The Four Noble Truths. He is the author of Explore Within: A Journey to Inner Peace and Beyond Our Self-Image: The True Story of a Fictional Character and the founder of Ancientpath.org.
This in-person meetup at the Arizona International Buddhist Meditation Center (AIBMC) is free, and you may donate to the temple. If you would like to subscribe to our mailing list, please email us at admin@ancientpath.org to receive updates on special events.
The AIBMC Meditation Center looks like a regular house but is, in fact, a Buddhist temple. There is a hall at the back of the temple (where you'll see the Buddha statue in this meetup cover photo) where we meditate. To enter, please proceed through the carport on the left side of the temple. The door to this hall is on the back left (southwest) side of the building, under the carport. Parking is available curbside or in the church parking lot across the street.

Save the day and attend this transformative one-day retreat to relax your body and mind until you experience your true self, true happiness.
This retreat helps seasoned and novice meditators and spiritual seekers find inner peace and experience their true selves.
Our experienced meditation guide will lead this retreat and share his firsthand experience of the Four Noble Truths and Buddha's Direct Path to Awakening.
Here is what our past participants have to say about their experiences:
"I started to feel that I was tapping into my true inner self, or rather, my true self was coming up from within. " -Tiffany A. Mesa, AZ
"The guidance was excellent; I think good for a beginner and the right amount for an experienced meditator wanting to explore a different technique and style for concentration practice." - Judy J. Alberta, Canada.
"I like his teaching style and contagious bliss. He is encouraging, patient, and genuine. He helped me achieve a taste of bliss, and now I can't stop."- Paula C, Scottsdale, AZ.
"I had a very positive experience at the retreat. The venue was a comfortable one, and I felt welcome and very safe. I appreciated the bottled water and hot coffee.
The wisdom and information provided by NT were easily understood, and I was able to integrate them into my overall experience. NT himself was kind, caring, and a teacher whom I felt I could trust." - Greg M. Apache Junction, AZ.
