General Notes:
The Journey though the Centre of the Kingdom is a 46 mile walk through 1,000 years of history in the beautiful Ribble Valley and the Forest-of-Bowland. It is a circular walk that starts and ends in Clitheroe. There are many historic sights of interest on the route including Clitheroe Castle and Sawley Abbey, Warren Hill, ancient flax retting pools and King Henry's Well. It passes through many Ribble Valley villages including Pendleton, Chatburn, Sawley, Bolton-by-Bowland, Slaidburn, Dunsop Bridge, Whitewell, Chipping and Bashall Eaves. This series of 5 walks will cover the 46 mile walk by completing circular walks. Everyone is welcome to attend as many of the walks as they wish, the dates of other walks are on our website.
Please give thought to the clothing and footwear necessary for adverse weather or ground conditions, and carry enough water and food for the day.
The leaders will not see comments on Meetup, please contact Paul & Jeanette Tel: 07817 747112, [paulbanks@gmail.com](mailto:paulbanks@gmail.com)
