Hike Duke Forest: Hollow Rock to Piney Mountain (3.6 mi)

Details
We'll hike 3.6 miles along beautiful New Hope Creek, from Hollow Rock Nature Park to Piney Mountain and back. This hike is definitely moderately challenging with a brief rock scramble and elevation gain at Piney Mountain. If you do not want to do the rock scramble, there is a path to head up to the top of Piney where you can reconvene with the group.
Waterproof hiking boots or similar are highly recommended. If it has rained recently, the creek may be too high to cross even with hiking boots so flexibility is appreciated. Bringing water is always a great idea.
On the way down the mountain, we'll spend about 10 minutes hiking without talking. Just gives everyone a chance to enjoy the surroundings.
If you cannot attend, kindly amend your RSVP 24 hours in advance. This gives people on the wait list a chance to plan to attend. Trail hikes are intentionally kept small in number.
