According to common knowledge and Maslow’s hierarchy of needs; physical contact is a human need, a need which electronics cannot replace.
Don't worry, just because this is located in Grand Prairie, TX, meetups will be in Dallas, Fort Worth, Mid-Cities areas.
This meetup is for Women and Men in the entire DFW region!***
**Safety is the #1 priority.** Boundaries will be respected and verbal consent will be AGREED before ANY touching happens. You don’t have to cuddle with anyone you don’t want to (or anyone at all) Ever! Cuddle Party Rules The Cuddle Party rules are tried and true, and there’s a logic to them that goes deeper than you might think to create a safe, fun environment for people to connect.
At a Cuddle Party event, the first 45/50 minutes includes an explanation of the rules that you can put to use everyday. Intrigued? Come to a Cuddle Party! And with no further ado…
The Rules:
ARRIVE ON TIME:  Once we begin the Welcome Circle and orientation, sorry, we can let no one enter late. This creates comfort and safety by knowing that everyone is on the same page about rules and expectations.
WHAT TO WEAR:  Pajamas – nothing too risqué. Think more comfy like loungewear than sexy. (More drawstrings, less lace! No shorts.)
WHAT TO BRING:  **No** liquor folks. Juice or sparkling cider and any food you want to share is always welcome. A pillow or stuffed animal if you like. Otherwise, just bring your smiling self.
STICK TO THE RULES:
1\. Pajamas stay on the whole time\.
2\. You don’t have to cuddle anyone at a Cuddle Party\, ever\.
3\. You must ask permission and receive a verbal YES before you touch anyone\. \(Be as specific in your request as you can\.\)
4\. If you’re a yes\, say YES\. If you’re a no\, say NO\.
5\. If you’re a maybe\, say NO\.
6\. You are encouraged to change your mind\.
7\. Respect your relationship agreements and communicate with your partner\. \(Please have this conversation beforehand\, if applicable\)
8\. Get your Cuddle Party Facilitator or the Cuddle Assistant if you have a question or concern or need assistance with anything during the Cuddle Party\.
9\. Tears and laughter are both welcome\.
10\. Respect people’s privacy when sharing about Cuddle Parties\.
11\. Keep the Cuddle space tidy\.

[ "Hugging…increases oxytocin levels, which is a 'bonding' hormone—this chemical reaction can help to reduce blood pressure, which in turn reduces the risk of heart disease, but it can also help to reduce stress and anxiety." \~ Catherine A. Connors (stress management coach and holistic therapist) [[http://www.shape.com/lifestyle/sex-and-love/5-health-reas](http://www.shape.com/lifestyle/sex-and-love/5-health-reas)...] There are health benefits to a hug. Virginia Satir, family therapist states, 'We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth.' Hugs have been linked to reduced heart rate, increased overall mood, decreased blood pressure, and increased nerve activity. The increased nerve activity allows touch to relieve pain, depression and even anxiety. It has been suggested that hugs increase the hormone oxytocin. The hormone used by the body during breast feeding to promote bonding.
Physical benefits are not the only things passed on in a hug. Hugs also help people to bond on an emotional level. Hugs increase feelings of safety, security, trust, strength, healing, self worth, belonging, happiness, and appreciation. Children who lack hugs or good touching have been found to start walking later, start talking later, and start reading later. Without hugs IQ development can be delayed. In extreme cases people can develop what is known as 'failure to thrive syndrome.'" Cuddling can also release endorphins, which is the chemical released after a good workout or when you eat chocolate which contributes to that great feeling." \~ Dr. Renee Horowitz [[http://www.shape.com/lifestyle/sex-and-love/5-health-reas(http://www.shape.com/lifestyle/sex-and-love/5-health-reas)...] I believe you will all find peace, happiness, and a boost in mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This is what we've been searching for. This is what we've been waiting for. I ask you to not just live, but to thrive. Namaste' Francis
