How to Tame a Beast - Test automation for Microsoft Dynamics
This experience report describes how the Dela's Relationship Management team improving their test and release processes around the Microsoft Dynamics low-code software environment. Initially facing long, unreliable test runs and significant manual effort, the team is aiming to reduce testing time from 10 hours to not more than 10 minutes. They applied EventStorming to clarify requirements and has moved to Req’n Roll for living documentation. The session covers improvements to the Azure pipeline for improved compliancy and the introduction of quality gates to support more reliable and frequent releases. So far the improvement resulted in a saving of over €70K of licence costs and the team is gradually moving to a low maintenance test framework. In this session they would like to show what has been accomplished so far, what obstacles they're still face and what the aim is for the future."Ruben Dieleman is a software engineer at DELA, focusing on test automation, agile process improvement, and developing reliable, maintainable software.
