What we’re about
This group is for (all) people over 50 who desire to get off the couch and offline to meet people and participate in activities and events that one might not want to attend alone.
We'll plan events and meet-ups for both working and retired people who live in Detroit. Most events will be in Detroit. Metro folks welcome. Meet-ups can include: lectures, theater events, live music, community events, day trips, etc.
If you have an idea for a meet-up, lets us know!
You must have a picture of you that is not blurry or far away to join the group. The whole point of joining meet-up is to meet other people and when meeting in person it helps to have a face to the name of people you're meeting.
If you are considering joining this group, please be aware that there is a $10/year fee.
It covers costs of organizer fee, venue rentals, supplies, or refreshments. There is also proven evidence that if you are paying a fee there is more accountability to actually participate.

Mad Gravity is a comedy about two Dada performance artists who have built a theatre in their living room. Every night before a live audience, they act out their lives. You've heard of reality TV...welcome to Reality Theatre. Tonight's performance concerns a dinner party between 2 very different families that couldn't possibly go worse...until they learn of a comet barreling towards Earth. Everyone, including the audience, may have only an hour to live. This forces everyone to stop arguing about insignificant things and start arguing about great philosophical questions of life: Is the comet a sign from God, or is it just gravity? And what the hell is performance art? The second act is like nothing anyone's ever seen before and does something no play has ever attempted in the history of theatre - it lets the audience in on the meaning of life.

If you'd like a senior discount you'll have to email: rcptickets@gmail.comThere is no reserved seating, so we will meet early. I will check with the venue, but I think meeting at 7 pm gives a chance to chat a little before the show. *If anyone is interested in eating before the show we could consider Beverly Hills Grill that is nearby. If you're interested in both, please comment in event chat.
Edited to add:
“Curtain is at 8:00pm, Doors open for seating at 7:00PM. Please arrive at least 15 mins before Curtain at 8:00pm. We do have cabaret style seating, so it is tables and chairs with 4 seats at a table. Do you plan on sitting with anyone else other than the (1) ticket you have purchased? If yes please let me know their name(s) so that I can accommodate your seating arrangements.
We do allow food and drink in the theater (you are allowed to bring in your own food and adult beverages if you prefer). We will have concessions available i.e., water, soda, candy, coffee, tea, sorry no popcorn.”
Let me know if you’ve purchased a ticket and I’ll email our names.
