REDMOND: COTA Cascade Views Trails-Hummingbird Trail Build Day 1

Details

What: Join us at Cascade Views to start building the new Hummingbird Trail. Yup that's right we will be building a new trail on the Cascade Views Trail System to continue where we left off last year! You don't want to miss out to be the first to throw some dirt on this exciting new trail!

We will be building all spring so keep an eye out for more Meetup events!

Where: The group will be meeting at the end of a paved dead end road a quarter mile south of the Cascade View Trailhead (GPS Coordinates 44.27698, -121.31664) NOT THE TRAILHEAD. Be sure to drive past the trailhead and look for the COTA sign. Then turn right and drive to the end of the road until you find the COTA trailer.
Eagle Crest Blvd, Redmond, OR 97756

Crew Leaders will have a COTA sign out near the meeting location. Your Crew Leader will discuss the exact work area location on the day of your event.

When: Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, so we can have an on time start. If anyone is running late or gets lost, please call or text your Crew Leader.

What to expect: After meeting with your Crew Leader, the group will have a short safety and work overview briefing. From there, the group will gather tools and walk to the work area. Be prepared for hard work and to have FUN! We love talking about the trails and the techniques used to maintain them, so ask questions if you have them.

Cancellation: Plan on working rain or shine. If there is inclement weather, smoke from wildfires, or anything COTA deems dangerous, your COTA Crew Leader will update this meetup page and a message will go out. If you do not hear from your COTA Crew Leader, the event is on. If still in doubt you can call or text your Crew Leader.

  • Sunscreen/chapstick
