CMG Summer Road Trip #1: THUNDERBOLTS at the Strand Theatre in Delaware!

Join us as we kick off summer movie season with a short road trip to the historic Strand Theatre in Delaware to see the fun superhero adventure, THUNDERBOLTS! Florence Pugh, David Harbour and Sebastian Stan lead an all-star cast of unconventional team of antiheroes! We'll kick off our Summer Road Trip series by seeing it in the Strand Theatre in historic downtown Delaware! Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:

DESCRIPTION: After finding themselves ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes must embark on a dangerous mission that will force them to confront the darkest corners of their pasts. The film is directed by Jake Schreier and stars an ensemble cast including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Lewis Pullman, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

BUZZ AND REVIEWS: No reviews yet, but the word on the street is early test screening results were extremely positive and hopes are high that THUNDERBOLTS could help return the MCU to its former glory!

THE STRAND THEATRE: The Strand Theatre is located at 28 East Winter Street in historic downtown Delaware! Operating for more than 100 years, the Strand Theatre is one of the 10 longest-operating movie theaters in the United Status and one of the few remaining independent movie theaters showing first-run films! The theater offers a variety of programming, including first-run, art house, special events and fun film series! If you haven’t been there (or haven’t been there in a while), you are in for a treat! In addition to the historic theater, the entire downtown area has been completely revitalized with lots of great restaurants and shops!

DINNER: We’ll make our day trip complete by visiting nearby MI CERRITO Mexican Restaurant, located literally across the street and steps away from the theater! Trip Advisor has it ranked #3 of 86 restaurants in Delaware! Their menu features lots of fun/tasty options, including all the usual suspects plus vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free options! Vegan options take a little more creativity, but the restaurant said they can work with a variety of ingredients (black beans, rice, guac, mushrooms, grilled veggies, fresh avocado, etc.) to create veggie burritos, tacos or something special! PLAN: We’ll plan for an early 1pm-ish showing and will meet inside the lobby area about 30 minutes before showtime! Once showtime is announced, advance ticket purchase via the Strand Theatre website is advised. Complete details will be confirmed and announced as the date gets closer. PARKING: There are several lots located within a block of the Strand, including one across the street! Parking is FREE on Sunday in metered and non-metered locations! I uploaded a parking map, in case its helpful!
