What we’re about
Welcome to Colorado Quad Runners (CQR) Established in 2001, this group of trail riding enthusiasts has a diversity of common interests in exploring and enjoying the back trails of this beautiful state and beyond. Come ride with us! We are excited you have found us and hope you become interested in joining our club.
We are a federally registered 501 (c) (7) social club with an official roster of dues paying members. Current annual memberships are paid through meetup, and the cost is $15.00 per person. You must be a member to join in club events. Your membership includes an initial 30 day free trial
CQR events can be a single day of riding, a weekend trip, or a week long campout. We are a pet friendly group as well. We believe in riding safely with others. Our ride leaders are familiar with the geography and use maps & GPS devices. We are always looking for new places to go and explore. New members often bring that knowledge and experience to the club. Members use a variety of machines, such as utility or sport quads and 2 or 4 passenger side-by-sides. We require everyone to wear a DOT approved helmet.
We work with the BLM and US Forest Service on trail projects. We partner with Stay-The-Trail, and COHVCO to support our riding community. There is a wealth of trail knowledge in this club and an opportunity to learn more from new members.
During a typical weekend or weeklong trip, we plan our daily rides in advance, and try to offer riders a choice of rides based on their skill level and riding preferences.
Please spend some time browsing our event calendar to see if CQR is a good fit for you and your family. We have a 20-year history of exploring the backcountry of Colorado and other Western States. Come ride with us and share our love of the great outdoors!

See all- Wagon Wheel Trail System - New Castle COWagon wheel campsite, New castle, CO
This is an amazing area, geographically, it is called the Colorado flat tops. There are many valleys and mountain tops, full of wild flowers and the occasional sheep herd.
We had a great time last year and found a sizable, dispersed campsite that is in the middle of all the trails. Getting there involves traveling for about an hour north of Newcastle on a dirt road. Last year we had no issues on the road, and it is suitable for any size rig.
To get to the campsite travel I 70 west to the town of Newcastle.
To get to the campsite, Paste the following GPS coordinates into your Google maps. 39.8154013, -107.5815187The Wagon Wheel System has over 250 miles of trails and 16 interconnecting loops in the White River National Forest on the top the expansive Flat Tops. Some of the trails have restrictions depending on your vehicle width. For the most part full size side-by-sides won’t have a problem.
We will have a potluck dinner Saturday night 6:00 pm Please bring something to share if you want to participate.
DOT helmets are required for all drivers and passengers, it is also highly recommended that you have a two-way for enhanced safety and to help you stay connected with your ride group. A two-way radio link is at the bottom of the page.
All drivers and passengers must be a paying CQR meetup member of the club, if you wish to be a guest, you may join for free for 30 days.
For those of you that use Avenza maps use the following location search:

You will be taken to a link that shows a number of maps in the Meeker area. Which includes a National Geographic bundle, motor vehicle use maps, and wagon wheel maps.
The Gaia app is also an excellent choice for navigation and includes nation-wide National geographic maps.

They have nice campsites and cabins, book early, they fill up fast...Utahraptor state park has recently opened. The sites are large, and they plan to have electric/water sites, as well as primitive sites. There is a dirt trail that runs parallel to the hwy 191 connecting both sites.
