Spring has finally arrived, and how lucky are we that Ohio has one of the most beautiful national parks in the country?!

We have the amazing opportunity to capture Spring at its finest on a real live scavenger hunt- did I say a scavenger hunt? Yessssss I said a scavenger hunt- a real life scavenger hunt— with a Park volunteer photographer, a ranger, and best of all: with each other!! What could be funner?!!

So bring your cameras: I don’t care if it’s a camera-camera, a manual camera with film, a digital camera, your phone camera, an underwater camera from Walmart, or your niece‘s camera that you get to borrow. So what if it’s made from the manufacturer who makes easy bake ovens! It’s all good! Even if you don’t have a camera, bring your mind’s camera. We all have one. Although sometimes I lose it temporarily — along with the rest of my mind!🤣

We will scavenger hunt with this Park volunteer photographer and Ranger, and then we will walk a little bit by ourselves, leaded by Moi!

The event is free. We will meet between 130 and 2 PM for a 2 PM start.

This program will be at Boston Run Trailhead; this is also the parking lot for Happy Day Lodge. We will meet at the main parking lot on the north side of the road, not the lodge.

If you meet at the lodge, we will not know you are there because you’re not supposed to meet at the lodge. Do not meet at the lodge. Or the next time I see you, I will have to put you through the group tickling machine and you know what that means! That means you are going to be on YouTube! And you don’t want to be on YouTube do you?? so not at the lodge

The address is: Boston Run Trailhead: 500 W. Streetsboro Road, Peninsula, OH 44264. There will be a porta potty but no water available at this location. If you really have to go to the potty and you do not want to use the porta potty then you can go to the potty at the lodge, but remember you have to do that before the meeting time because we’re not meeting at the lodge.

So wear some comfortable, ankle protective shoes, since we will be walking on a hilly, maybe muddy, unpaved maybe rocky trail. Bring some snacks in case you get hungry, bring some water in case you get thirsty, and dress in layers in case it’s a little bit cold. I recommend a backpack. Check out the weather that day and bring a hat or gloves or bug spray, or rain gear oor sunglasses and sunscreen. Make sure to prepare for the outdoors; if you don’t prepare for the outdoors, I’m going to have to come over to you and bundle you up myself like a itty bitty baby and then I will have to Coochie Coochie Coochie Coochie bougie bougie bougie bougie cutie-paaahhhtootie you- right in front of your friends. And then I will have to take a picture of that. And then I will have to post it, make T-shirts out of it , and make everybody wear it — on the news — and on Facebook — and Instagram — and at your kids’ soccer games. Is that what you want?

After dinner, we will mosey on down to Ingenuity Fest at 5401 hamilton Ave (6 minutes walking from the restaurant ) where we will get our art on and creativity-ize to our hearts’ content!

Yeehawwwww! Ever wonder what it feels like to climb on the back of a wild creature that is soft and pointy at the same time where if you’re not holding on for dear life, you can be thrown up in the air like a beanbag juggled by clowns in a circus —only Ronald won’t catch you — instead you’d headed toward the ground at 1,000,000 miles an hour, just to be molded into a perfectly round pancake- remember the rounder the booty, the rounder the pancake!

Well, never fear. This is NOT actually going to happen to you! But and that is a very big butt, or in this case, a very big pancake, this could potentially happen to someone or someones - plural - whom we will be watching!

Come join me for a real live rodeo where we can watch real, live Cowboys bull-ride! In fact, these guys are professional bull riders! No bull! I mean, yes bull: there will be bulls there because they need to ride them. But no bull, meaning no bull as in no bull ……

….Shhhhhh It will be a secret as to how many professional bull riders
we will see that day, but I can guarantee you that we will have a rootin’ tootin’ good ol’ time that would make even Garth Brooks proud!

Oh, for those of you who would like to run in and help, like moving the witto wiooode cweetchure off the witto wandsome wayngler:DON’T! Cowboys like these kinds of activities. Why do you think they call themselves “Cowboys”? I mean a bull is a boy cow— and these guys are going to be bull riding. No one knows why they are calling them themselves Cowboys and not bull boys. Or goat boys or sheep boys for that matter because on other nights, this place has cowboys that wrangle sheep and tie three of their littler legs up for a few seconds. That’s a little bit crappy for a sheep. If I were a sheep, I would tell that cowboy that that is utter bull that three of my legs are getting tied up for a few seconds -even one second is bull. I realize if I said that, the boy cows around me would think I am not making any sense because there are no boy cows in that particular sheep -tying -up -event, so they would wonder why I am even saying the word “bull. “ Boy cows are not that smart. But you and I know what I’m talking about! So Shuuush your witto mouth -let’s keep them confused!

Ahhhh I digress. My point is is that if we think about the word “cowboy”, it is not really that accurate because they are not wrangling cows at the rodeo. They are wrangling boy cows, so if you take it at face value, they would be wrangling the lady cows because cows are ladies - and can you imagine a cowboy wrangling a lady cow ? Well that would just be pure and UDDER cruelty!! I bet you boy cows made up that word “cowboy” because 1: they are not that smart and 2: they don’t like it when they are too much in the limelight. What do you think they try to buck the Cowboys off their backs?!
