What we’re about
Civic Tech DC brings together volunteers putting technology to work in service of civic and social issues in the Washington, DC community.
Our members include software developers, designers, project and product managers, data geeks, activists, and other community members. All are welcome to participate, and we seek to be a diverse and inclusive space.
We partner with both community organizations and government agencies. Some of our work is specific to DC proper, while other work relates to the entire region.
Our types of project work include: building websites and web apps, analyzing data, running educational workshops, designing materials, and more. We usually meet twice a month, with additional project work happening between meetings.
Civic Tech DC is part of the larger field of civic technology.
