The North Country Trail Star of the North Chapter will be having their spring cleanup the first weekend of May again this year. We'll camp at the Mabel Lake National Forest Campground 7 miles west of Remer Thursday night through Monday morning. Camping is free and you can stay 1-4 nights with dinner each evening and breakfast each morning provided. If you decide not to camp, you can join the crew Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday mornings at the campground at 8 AM.
There will be all types of trail maintenance work for every ability including clearing branches, using loppers to open the corridor and assessing trail conditions. You can come for one day or help all three. Bring your own gear (rain jacket, gloves, boots, water bottle, etc.) and the tools will be provided including hard hats, safety goggles and hearing protection if needed. Note that no water will be available at the campground so bring your own. Also, bring your own lunch for each day.
We look forward to having you join the crew this year to help clear the chapter's 30 miles of trail for the coming hiking season!
