Lake district: Lakes and Fells based in Keswick

Details
This lakes trip is for the guided walks only, you will need to make your own accommodation reservations in or near to Keswick, I recommend booking with free cancellation and I will organise and lead the walks and book restaurants for the evening meals. The group size will be limited to no more than 16-18 people, so it still has an intimate feel. The cost of walks only is £100. The advantage of this type of trip is that you choose a cost and comfort level that is appropriate for your budget and still get the walks and socialising aspect of my other trips.
The walks:
All the walks are self drive, but I encourage car sharing, and there are car park charges - although in some, national trust members park for free so bring your card.
Mon 2pm - Keswick introduction walk (4 miles 2.5 hours)
A little leg stretcher after the long journey up to the lakes. The popular beauty spot of Friar's Crag is featured in this walk which follows lakeshore, field and woodland paths, giving superb views over Keswick, Derwent Water, Bassenthwaite and the surrounding fells. It makes a most attractive, interesting and varied walk, involving two modest and relatively short climbs, amidst some of the finest scenery the Lake District can offer.
Borrowdale: 7 miles (4 hours walking)
Many have claimed that Borrowdale is the loveliest valley in England. This walk which reveals much of Borrowdale's exceptional beauty, certainly reinforces that claim. It also proves that it is not necessary to scale great heights in order to enjoy some of the finest Lakeland scenery. This is a low-level walk throughout - initially along the side of the valley and later returning along the banks of the Derwent -which has spectacular views of lakes, mountains, valleys, woods and river all the way.
Cat Bells and Derwent Water (4.5 miles approx 2.5 hours)
The ascent of Cat Bells is deservedly one of the most popular walks in the Keswick area. Despite its modest height (451m), both ascent and descent, though short, are quite steep and strenuous, and the Cat Bells ridge walk is one of the finest, offering glorious panoramas across Derwent Water and down Borrowdale to the left and over the Newlands valley to the right. A delightful stroll along the wooded shores of Derwent water rounds of a superb walk.
Ashness Bridge, Watendlath and Bowder Stone (9 miles approx 5 hours walking)
This is an exceptionally beautiful walk, which has three scenic highlights that will remain indelibly in the memory. The first is the well-known viewpoint from Ashness Bridge over Derwent Water and Skiddaw. Next, from a wooded perch high above the valley, comes the dramatic Surprise View. Finally, there is the magnificent view of the head of Borrowdale soon after leaving Watendlath. Lakeshore, woodland, a huge isolated boulder and an idyllic secluded hamlet make this an outstandingly varied walk, The terrain is good throughout and there are only two modest climbs.
Payment
The cost is £100 for all 4 walks and is due on signing up. If you cancel a refund will only be made if I'm able to resell your place.
