Explore Snowdonia: Isolated beauty in the heart of Snowdonia (low level walks)

Details

If you wish to book your own accommodation and do the walks only the cost is £125 for the walks, please message me to arrange this option.

An opportunity to explore the beauty and awe inspiring mountains of Snowdonia. The walks on the trip are all lower level, there are still plenty of ups and downs, so you need to be fit, but there is not the relentless 3 hours of up required to ascend Snowdon itself!

The accommodation is in a self contained building set in woodland giving a real remote feeling and an ideal base for a midweek trip of walking and socialising in the breathtakingly beautiful Snowdonia region. A short walk from our accomodation is Llynnau Mymbyr lake; ideal for a spot of wild swimming after one of the walks.

A non refundable deposit of £200 is due on signing up for this trip. The balance is due by 30th April 2025. If you sign up and pay the £200 non refundable deposit by 20th September a discount of £50 will be applied so the cost of the trip will be £425.

Accommodation
The trip includes 4 nights accommodation, breakfast not included and 4 guided walks. The accommodation is in the 'Farmhouse' which is a self contained building set away from the main house in woodland with 13 en suite single rooms, a separate kitchen/dinning area and living room. The accommodation is part of the National Mountain Centre at Plas y Brenin on the edge of the quaint village of Capel Curig.

No Food is included in the price of the trip. Breakfast can be made in the communal kitchen dinning room (you provide your own breakfast). Evening meals are available in the bar/restaurant or in the delightful town of Betws-y-Coed, a short drive away.

The walks

This relatively short and undemanding route around Capel Curig has fine views over the surrounding mountains and valleys, areas of woodland and attractive riverside and lakeside walking. The highlight of the walk, given clear conditions, is the view of Snowdon across Llynnau Mymbyr, one of the great classic views of North Wales.
