See event photo for tips on how to find the start point, it's 60 seconds from Nova Scotia Pub, Hotwells.
DON'T GOTO THE NOVA SCOTIA PUB - WE ARE NOT STARTING THERE
There is parking nearby. On street and council owned car parks - I believe time limited to 3 or 4 hours, your need to check. There is the Long Ashton park and ride, 10 minutes cycle - but small print says 'park and cycle' not allowed. A few of these car parks are within the Bristol Clean Air Zone, domestic and commercial vehicles may incur a charger.
The route is a mix of traffic free and quiet roads. Were stop or slow down after junctions and hills to let everyone catch up. The pace will be fairly slow.
This ride starts with a limit of 20 people, to ensure the event manageable and enjoyable for all. I will increase if someone volunteers to ride as a back marker? Primary task is to ride at the back and be visible to me when I pause the ride for catch ups, so I know we have everyone.
This is a good ride for first timers or people looking to catch up with regulars. Find a café buddy as we ride, or grab a take away drink and sit in the precinct or grass.
The ride is typically well attended with 20 plus riders, your need to be careful riding close to other riders. I will stop for catch ups, junctions etc so you may find the rider in front of you come to a halt.
Bring a bike lock, there will be a lot of bikes, so best to agree to lock to another one of our riders. Main bike parking is near Coffee #1 / Waitrose.
Were start to gather for the return 60 minutes after arriving, meeting by the cycle parking between the Waitrose café and Coffee #1
DON'T GET LEFT IN NAILSEA - MAKE SURE YOUR ON TIME.
The route out of Nailsea is slightly different to the route in due to the one way system, were head up the high street, then take a right turn past the Nailsea Micro Pub into the car park and back towards the Leisure Centre.
On return to Bristol, were head to the dockside seating opposite the Mardyke pub, there is a also a mini mart for drinks, snacks a short walk along the road.

Please respect we ride in a group and the ride leader has to make
decisions on behalf of the group, these need to be followed.
The ride leader will stop for catch-ups, at junctions and hills. Please do not overtake the ride leader this is how most rides have ended up with riders being lost, causing the whole group to be inconvenienced.
You must be confident in your fitness level for the whole ride. If you are in any doubt please do not attend. You must be capable of riding for 90 minutes non stop and completed this recently. We do not ride fast and do stop at the top of hills but we do require a certain level of fitness.
Your bike needs to be recently ridden and in good order. You should bring a spare inner tube for your bike. This is to avoid holding up the rest of the group. There is likely to be someone on the ride who can help mend a puncture, although this is not guaranteed. Have a plan is you or your bike cannot be fixed following an incident.
