Brisbane Social Events & Activities: BBQs, Make Friends, etc

Every couple of weeks we meet a Kaohsiung Place in South Bank Parklands for a casual social barbecue and chat.

Finding us: The Meetup Map Point keeps changing to South Bank Ferry Terminal. Kaohsiung Place is a short walk from there. With the ferry terminal and river behind you and the rainforest in front of you, turn left and walk 50 metres. We are usually the biggest group there, and if I am there, I will put up a sign saying Meetup.

Bring food and drinks (alcohol is allowed in South Bank). Bring food for yourself or bring food and snacks to share. It doesn't have to be barbecue items. You don't have bring anything if you just want to come and hang out and chat and meet lots of nice people.
It is a casual event, and we usually get between 10 and 30 people at events. People turn up at different times. Feel free to bring friends along too.

Transport: There are buses, trains and ferries to South Bank and $10 underground parking at South Bank if you are driving.
We don't cancel for rain, but might for storms. So check the Meetup event page in case there are any updates.

Voluntary Contribution: We are asking for a totally and completely voluntary contribution of $1 or $2 per event. You can contribute more or nothing, we don't mind. The idea is the group is about the people who come, and so we want the group to be able to keep going, no matter who the organiser is. Please contribute if you can.

I have 4 free tickets to see the preview of the movie Clown in a Cornfield at Uptown in the city centre of May 7 at 6:30 pm.

Yes, 1 of those free tickets is mine, so I am looking for 3 people who want to be the coolest kids on the block and see a movie before it is released to ordinary people. It is described as a fun slasher flick, so you know what you are getting yourself into.

The location is Uptown (previously known as Myers Centre). We will meet upstairs at the cinemas there.

Often previews include at least free popcorn and drinks, but it is not guaranteed.

Afterwards we can go for coffee, snacks or drinks to discuss the movie.

To get tickets you will need to message me directly or through the comments. I will need your first and last name and email address to get you the tickets.

Note: You can't buy tickets to this event, at least not yet. But maybe later they will release some tickets to the paying public.
