What we’re about
Interested in exploring Brighton and Hove on foot?
We're a group of urban ramblers that set out on monthly walks around the city, taking in some of the favourite sites and places as well as exploring off the usual beaten track and getting out of the city boundaries a bit.
Walks can be anything up to about four miles; take place at a leisurely but not slow pace; tend to be on a Sunday morning between 11:00 and 13:00; dogs welcome unless there are explicit restrictions. The area is hilly so expect some gentle hill climbing.
Attendees must be fit and capable of walking for approximately four miles on, the sometimes uneven surfaces of, the roads around Brighton & Hove. You’re expected to follow the regular ‘rules of the road’ so please ensure it’s safe to cross and don’t just follow the person in front of you. Use your common sense!
The rambles aren't 'guided tours' but do have a theme, usually around local history or architecture. Some walks may be lead by a specialist guide but otherwise the ramble leads may know a bit about the architecture and heritage of the routes and we all chip in with what we know about the area we're rambling as we walk along.
Brighton and Hove Urban Ramblers was founded by Dr Cara Courage and is now run by Kevin Wilsher.

See all- Art of 'The Postman' Street Artist - Hovei360, Brighton
I'm short of time in May so only one Wednesday ramble is possible. This will be a shortish linear walk along the seafront and back. We'll try to spot the various pieces of street art created by the elusive 'Postman'.
This is how they describe themselves on their website: https://thepostmanart.com
From the vibrant streets of Brighton, UK, emerges THE POSTMAN, a dynamic street artist duo whose vivid pop-art inspired murals have become a captivating presence in cities worldwide. Choosing to embrace anonymity, THE POSTMAN allows their art to take centre stage, without the need for personal recognition. We'll start at the i360 and walk west to Rockwater then back along the seafront.
Terrain: Flat
Toilets: Next to the i360We'll start at 11:00 so make sure you're here by then.
If you'd like to help me pay the Meetup charges (which have gone up by 50% this year), I'll happily accept a two-pound donation at the end. Lots of people don't carry cash now so I do have an electronic solution subject to mobile phone signal!
Kevin
MEET: Meet on beach level between i360 and the upside-down house. Look for the chap in the blue and white baseball cap with a blue B on the front.
