Seven years helping thousands of people buy and hold bitcoin at paybtc, and five years of Bitcoin Brisbane, showed us exactly where people get stuck buying, owning and spending bitcoin. b is what we built to fix that.

Schedule

5:15 pm Gathering outside Lucid Apartments (photo below).
5:30 pm We bring convos upstairs for charcuterie and drinks. Sunset is 5:45.
6:15 pm b. bitcoin for everybody. Ben Howard
6:30 pm Questions.
6:40 pm Soapbox. Five minutes each, anyone on any bitcoin topic.
7:00 pm Music, food and conversation until 10.
10:00 pm Finish

Getting there

Gather out front at 5:15 pm - 5:30 pm. (See image)

After 5:30 pm, please message the Telegram or Signal group and someone will come down.
Parking: Street parking or $20 fixed rate 5 min walk away. P2 - Queensland Art Gallery and Queensland Museum.

Bring something to share if you like: cheese, meats, snacks, drinks. There is a kitchen and BBQ available.

Arrive from 5:00pm for a 5:15pm start, at the Brisbane Square Library.

About Brisbane BitDevs:
A technical discussion for everybody interested in the development of Bitcoin and the technical, economic and philosophical implications of it. You do not need to be a developer to listen in on, or even join the discussion, but having a background in IT, computer systems, software development or cryptography will be useful. BitDevs is about everything related to Bitcoin software, tools, research, protocol upgrades (BIPs), mining and so on.

Submissions for topics are encouraged and can be submitted directly on GitHub. You can expect about a dozen or so topics per month. A short round-table discussion will follow each topic with an opportunity for comments and questions.

This month, among other topics, we will discuss Elliptic Curve Cryptography and then Discreet Log Contracts and perhaps BIP32 derivation and Silent Payments.

No topic is too technical or nuanced to be discussed.

We do expect some topics to generate discussion. Opinionated, thoughtful and respectful reasoning is encouraged. Unfortunately, we do not have time to entertain topics related to other blockchains.
