What we’re about

Do you feel like you should be exercising, reading, honing skills, socializing, life-planning, getting outside, organizing your life, etc., but you just aren't doing it? If you're looking at this group it's likely because the name of the group reminded you that you want to be a better version of yourself, and you want people to be a part of that process. Many of us struggle with doing what we ought to be doing most of the time, even when we are more than aware of that need and how much we are neglecting it. For me personally, I have a very detailed schedule on a color-coded spreadsheet full of things that are designed specifically to focus on my physical, intellectual, emotional, and social health, but I neglect it more often than I follow it. The one thing that has been missing in this attempt to be a better version of myself is people. I need people to keep it interesting, to stay motivated, and possibly most importantly, to be held accountable. Plus, the social health part is obviously not possible without people. The purpose of this group is to force us to be better versions of ourselves by taking care of each other, and having each other to help keep ourselves accountable. We will focus on specific areas that require improvement, schedule events to work on those areas of focus, and make it habitual.

We will have workshop meetups to discuss what areas we want to focus on as individuals (specifically things that follow that theme of physical, intellectual, emotional, and social health) and how we can plan to work on those things as a group. Then we will plan meetups designed with those goals in mind.

Let's do yoga in a park [that nobody is asking to get paid for], or meet up for a book club, or get a handful of us who are interested in a weekly MMA workout, or have a men's/women's only night out (because we need that for mental health), or build a garden in the yard of a member who needs help doing so, or go to a comedy club to work out our laughing muscles, or bring our kids (for those of us who have them) camping, or take a class in survival skills together. The possibilities are endless, but they are all meant to result in us being better versions of ourselves.
