Yorkshire Dales Weekend - Day 1 The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

Details

For our final weekend away for this year we will travelling “Up North” to complete the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge, plus there will be an alternative walk for those who may have already done the 3 peaks but would still like to come up to the dales. Sunday will be shorter walk to visit two of the most spectacular geological features in Britain, Malham Cove and Gordale Scar.

Day 1 - The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is one of the UK's classic challenges and is a must-do for avid hikers. The route guides participants over three of Yorkshire’s highest peaks: Whernside (736m), Ingleborough (723m), and Pen-y-ghent (694m).

Spanning around 24 miles (39 km) with over 1,500 meters of ascent, it’s a true test of endurance and determination. Hikers aim to complete the route in under 12 hours, navigating rugged and varied terrain. Though challenging, the effort is rewarded with breath-taking views across the Yorkshire Dales, making it a highly rewarding adventure.

IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
Due to the challenging nature of this walk it is only suitable for experienced hikers. If you are a first timer with the club, please read the "What we’re about" section on the club homepage before signing up for this walk, ensuring appropriate fitness and suitability.
