What we’re about
Regular public meetups are held to play competitive contract bridge, usually in some coffee house. We play party style, using Chicago scoring, with no duplicate equipment in sight. Players will table-talk to learn how to become better players, diagnose hands afterwards, and socialize between hands with like-minded friends
Good card players started holding similar meetups in 18th-century London and New York, but they referred to their game as Whist. We know and love its more challenging modern equivalent, which our Bridge Parties make easy for you to play and enjoy often.
The social networking payoff remains unchanged - we stimulate our minds, catch up on news and gossip, eat dinner near people we enjoy, get up off our couches, and have a barrel of fun.
Bridge Party meetups repeat regularly in MetroWest or North Shore venues, usually midweek evenings after work, starting near supper time. We expect you already know rules, tactics, all common "Standard American" bidding conventions; have good "card sense"; enjoy competition; win or lose gracefully.
We do teach beginners, but only in meetups held solely for that purpose. Write the organizer if interested. Ask about our next scheduled introduction to the basic play and tactics of Contract Bridge, offered via free, public mini-bridge meetups.
