Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Indian Blanket Hike

Join us at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center for 5 miles of hiking through three different wildflower meadows while visiting the main gardens in between each circuit through the wildflower meadows. This guided tour will be led by our very own Bob Schooler, who has been a docent (highly trained volunteer qualified to conduct tours) at the Wildflower Center since 2012. We chose this date because the Indian Blankets should be in full bloom.

OPTIONAL: Afterwards, we can break up into groups and eat at either one of two great cajun food restaurants nearby - Cypress Grill or Evangeline Cafe.

Parking is limited. The Wildflower Center plant sale may be taking place the same day. Last year, there were still spots in the parking lots at 9:00 AM, but you may have to park on the street, Lacrosse Blvd. We suggest carpooling or using a rideshare during peak hours. Please be mindful of pedestrians and avoid blocking private drives.

What to bring with you: Water (preferably with electrolytes), sun protection, and a good pair of hiking or trail running shoes.

How to find us: We will be standing by the main entrance next to the entry kiosk where you can purchase your entry ticket. I plan on making a sign so that its easy to find the group.

Cancellation policy: Last year, this event was very well attended. If you will not be able to make the hike, please be polite and change your RSVP to "not going" so you don't take someone else's place and so we don't wait for you at the trailhead.
