San Gabriel River from Blue Hole Hike & Georgetown Red Poppy Festival

This hike will be a 5 1/2-mile portion of the San Gabriel River Trail. We will meet at 9am on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, at the Blue Hole Park trailhead, hike approximately 2.7 miles to Middle Fork San Gabriel River, turn around, and hike back to Blue Hole. The Blue Hole Park trailhead is at the corner of Rock Street & 2nd Street in downtown Georgetown, next to the Encantada Cocina-Cantina (formerly El Monumento).

The Red Poppy Festival is happening this day in downtown Georgetown! Parking could be challenging - I recommend arriving early, enjoy the downtown area for a bit or have breakfast, then meet up at 9am at the trailhead.

The Red Poppy Festival is a fantastic event. After the hike, we can have lunch at Encantada or a food vendor at the festival, and enjoy live music throughout the rest of the day.
