The Austin Settlers of Catan Meetup

Anyone up for more than 4 hours of board gaming? Woohoo, you got it--come join us starting at 12:30 at North Village (now John Gillum) library in Northwest Austin!

We are an inclusive group—everyone welcome! NEWBIES WELCOME--we will be happy to teach you to play.

A slightly earlier start time for this meetup means we'll have plenty of time to play at least two games each. We might even get in three if we start on time.

It also means that we can have a table or two with heavier, more complex games that run long. To see a list of my games, go to https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/user/annabel398 and select Views > Owned. Please comment in this event with any games you'd like to try!

We will meet at the North Village (now John Gilliam) branch of the Austin Public Library, in NW Austin just off Steck and Burnet. Plenty of free parking. Walk in and look on the right-hand side, before the circulation desk, for the meeting room. We'll start at 12:30pm and play till the library closes (hard stop at 4:45). See you there!

PS: If you can't make it at 12:30, try showing up around 2ish, when the fastest gamers will be done with their first one and ready to start a second round.

Okay, folks, this month we have the luxury of more than four hours of board gaming! So bring your friends and let's dig in. Your host has plenty of games (we'll always have Catan, but also everything from Azul to ... darn, I don't have a Z game, but how about Wingspan?). You're welcome to bring your own game(s) as well. Can you teach? Great! Play an old favorite, learn a new one.

We’ll meet at the Milwood branch of the Austin Public Library, in northwest Austin, at 12500 Amherst Dr, off Parmer/MoPac. There's plenty of free parking, including four spots for EV charging at the west end of the lot.

We'll start at 12:30 and play till the library closes (well, actually till 4:45). This should give us time for two longish games, three shorter ones, or one really challenging brain-burner per table. With up to seven tables at our disposal, that means... a lot of board gaming. See you there!

P.S. Please, no food at the game tables—modern board games are expensive—so be sure to grab a bite before you arrive. Beverages in spill-proof containers are okay.
