Let's Hike & Kayak Weedon Island Preserve

We will explore a few short trails, adding up to about 4.5 miles total. Bring your sense of adventure as we'll be doing this for the first time ourselves! There is a 45-foot observation tower, 2 miles of boardwalk and paved trails, and about 2.7 miles of natural trail loops. Be sure to bring sunscreen, bug spray, hat, sunglasses, WATER, snacks, etc. If you only wish to participate in the hike, that's perfectly fine. You could also choose to do a shorter hike. Also on site is a cultural and natural history center.

Please bring a packed lunch! After hiking, we will retrieve our lunches from our cars and have a picnic before embarking on our kayak excursion. The air-conditioned cultural center will be open and has restrooms. We will paddle some of the 4-mile long paddling trail, which includes mangrove tunnels, as well as more open areas.

Reserve your preferred watercraft for NOON. This will give us time to eat lunch before we kayak. Stacy & Cindi are renting kayaks for a 2-hour stint, but please suit yourself! You can choose 1-hour, 2-hour, or 4-hour rentals.
