What we’re about
Welcome to the Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s Meetup! This Meetup is sponsored by the Narragansett Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (Joining this Meetup Group does not automatically make you an AMC member).
Our trip leaders host local hikes, bike rides, and social events aimed at outdoorsy 20-40ish years old. We offer activities throughout RI and surrounding areas both after work and on the weekends. Joining a YM activity is a great way to make new friends and explore the area's natural beauty.
The purpose of our Meetup is to introduce others to the wonderful outdoor opportunities offered by the AMC Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s. As a Meetup member, you have no obligation to join the AMC.But, if you enjoy participating in our events, we hope you will consider joining the AMC (https://www.outdoors.org/join-today?chapter=NA&campaign=70150000001EMs5AAG).
Please, only RSVP if you plan on attending the event. For the consideration of our leaders, we ask that you contact us if you have RSVP'ed and can no longer attend.
Our events are led by highly qualified, trained AMC volunteers who are always concerned about safety. They take every precaution to assure participant risk is minimized and fun is maximized.

We’ll then head up to Brown University for a charming view of the city, stroll through its peaceful gardens, and discover one of Providence’s oldest and most hidden libraries.
The walk continues with another stunning city view before we make our way downtown, passing through the oldest shopping mall in the country—an architectural gem with stories of its own.
To end, we’ll follow the river’s edge, guided by the sound of the water and the city’s charm—more than a walk, it’s a journey through the soul of Providence.
Our route is about 3 miles long with negligible elevation gain. Participants should be capable of walking this distance at a moderate pace (35 min/mile).
