About us
Alamo Python is part of the PyTexas network of Python user groups. We are focused at providing in person training and social events to help grow the San Antonio Python community. We are proud to be a part of the DevSA community of San Antonio technology user groups.
We are aiming to have bi-monthly (every 2 months) social meetups and tech talks. These will be in person. Our tech talks will be aimed at getting hands on with coding techniques, tricks, using packages, and cover the gamut of professional, business, hobby, AI, and game programming. We are also hoping to have an extended meeting once per quarter where will will aim to drill deeper into different programming areas.
We have an online presence on the DevSA Discord Server as well as the PyTexas Discord Server. As part of PyTexas, our members will be introduced to the Austin, Houston and DFW Python user groups as well as the annual PyTexas conference.
We are always looking for local speakers so let us know if you would like to present at one of our events.

Alamo Python Bimonthly Social and Mixer
Geekdom 3rd Floor Community Space, 110 East Houston St., Fl. 3, San Antonio, TX, USJoin us for our bimonthly social — this round we're teaming up with AITX and DevSA for a mixer right after the San Antonio Tech Summit! We'll gather at Geekdom to keep the momentum going once the summit wraps.
Whether you're a seasoned Pythoneer, a beginner just starting your journey, or somewhere in between, this is a great chance to:
- Connect with fellow Python enthusiasts plus the AI folks from AITX and builders from across the DevSA community.
- Share your projects, ideas, or challenges.
- Relax and unwind in a friendly, casual atmosphere.

Topic: Architecture Beyond the Diagram: Governing Python Systems People Can Actually ChangeArchitecture diagrams can explain what a system looks like, but they rarely explain how teams should evolve it safely. Python systems often grow through rapid iteration, integration needs, and team-specific decisions. Over time, the challenge becomes less about drawing the right diagram and more about creating governance that helps people make better changes.
This talk reframes software architecture as a living decision system. Nishanth introduces a governance-oriented architecture model built around decision records, ownership boundaries, integration contracts, stakeholder alignment, and change readiness. Attendees will leave with practical ways to make architecture more actionable, reduce decision confusion, and help teams evolve systems without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
