About us
Alamo Python is part of the PyTexas network of Python user groups. We are focused at providing in person training and social events to help grow the San Antonio Python community. We are proud to be a part of the DevSA community of San Antonio technology user groups.
We are aiming to have bi-monthly (every 2 months) social meetups and tech talks. These will be in person. Our tech talks will be aimed at getting hands on with coding techniques, tricks, using packages, and cover the gamut of professional, business, hobby, AI, and game programming. We are also hoping to have an extended meeting once per quarter where will will aim to drill deeper into different programming areas.
We have an online presence on the DevSA Discord Server as well as the PyTexas Discord Server. As part of PyTexas, our members will be introduced to the Austin, Houston and DFW Python user groups as well as the annual PyTexas conference.
We are always looking for local speakers so let us know if you would like to present at one of our events.

This month we are excited to continue our tradition of hosting Lightning Talks for July!
Speaker: You! Yes, you!
Topic: Anything you want (within reason)A lightning talk is short and low-pressure — about 5 minutes on anything Python-adjacent you're into. A library you love, a bug that haunted you, a weekend project, a hot take, a thing you just learned. First-time speaker? This is the perfect place to start — friendly crowd, quick format, big encouragement.
Sign up here: https://forms.gle/R4WEczqBV7g6cfCU7
The form stays open until Noon on Friday, July 3rd. We'll reach out if you're selected so you've got time to prepare before the 7th. Got an idea but not sure if it "counts"? It counts — drop it in the form or ask us here and we'll help you shape it. See you on the stage!
