About Our Speaker
Berezovsky joined Case in 2010 as a Physics professor after completing postdoc work at Harvard University. His research at Case focuses on two branches:
- New materials and devices for quantum technology leveraging magnetic systems and spins;
- Theory and applications of physics-based music theory.
In the former area, his lab studies how to use single electron spins either as quantum sensors for near-term application, or as qubits for longer-term quantum computing applications. In the latter area, Berezovsky has developed a statistical mechanics approach to music theory that aims to understand the ordered structures of music analogy to ordered phases of matter.
