60 mins | Behind the Scenes of Chat Apps: Unveiling the Complexity of Large Language ModelsChat apps driven by large language models (LLMs) are all the rage right now, but what is actually going on behind-the-scenes after you give one of these systems your query? It might be more complicated than you think. In this talk, Leo Stratus of Engram Software is going to detail some of the most common topologies for LLMs in production today, and we’re going to do it by walking through an actual systems design interview question Leo was given in a recent job interview for an artificial intelligence engineering role. You’re going to learn a little bit about the history of LLMs, how to explain what a ‘transformer’ is at a high level, and how to ace one of the most common AI engineer interview questions being asked in job interviews today.
- Leo Stratus runs Engram Software, a consultancy that specializes in custom-tailored artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions for business problems of all sizes. Leo has an extensive background in cognitive science, is a proud grad school dropout, and has held numerous engineering leadership roles at companies like Mozilla, Digital Ocean, and Splice.
