Adelaide Walkers & Joggers

Meet next to the lake opposite the Boatdeck Cafe for one of 3 different walks around lakes and wetlands of Mawson Lakes. Each walk is an approx 5km circuit and takes about 1 hour. It's an easy route, reasonably flat and please be considerate to others by arriving a few minutes early as we'd like to leave on time!

As this is a circular route, we can cater for any fitness level or speed. We always catch up afterwards to relax, chat and have a coffee or meal at the Boatdeck Cafe.

If, when we ARRIVE, the WEATHER is not the best (TOO HOT OR TOO WET), it may be decided to skip the walk and go straight to the Boatdeck Cafe! (So far this has only happened ONCE, so if you turn up there's bound to be someone else there too!)

Join us on Saturday afternoon for a walk followed by drinks and nibbles, if you choose, at the Edinburgh Hotel. Meet at McElligott's Quarry Reserve at the end of Carrick Hill Drive (not at Carrick Hill) near 48 Carrick Hill Drive, Mitcham. You can park along the road or in the reserve.
We will walk along the Yurrebilla trail in the grounds of Carrick Hill then through the University of Adelaide's Waite Reserve and around to the top of Willawilla (Brownhill) back down to where we started. The walk usually takes less than two hours. Dogs are not permitted.
This is a moderate hike with some steep bits, but mostly undulating. It is not recommended for those with bad knees or those who are not fit. There may be cattle along a portion of the walk. Total length is around 6 km. Bring water to drink and wear appropriate walking gear. If you bring a + 1, ensure that they are able to do this hike and understand the conditions of AW&J.

This is a 9 km Grade 3 walk for a minimum of 4 people. We leave from the Trailhead in Main Street, Crafers, next to the freeway exit roundabout. Be prepared for some rain. View the information in the link to learn about the route. My number is 0487 317 177 should you need to call me.
