Author Your Bestseller

Not sure where to start? Have you started a book but have been unable to finish it? Got ‘writer’s block’? Want to discuss your ideas or difficulties in an encouraging, creative and supportive setting? Want to share your writing experiences (good or bad) to help others, and in doing so, fuel your own creativity?
Author Your Bestseller is a group based on the values of: inclusiveness, participation, respect, support and encouragement. It’s all about encouraging and supporting anyone who is interested in writing fiction or non-fiction by facilitating the sharing of participants’ ideas, learnings and resource knowledge with the group, enabling you to author your bestseller.
Your Host
Alistair was born into a Eurasian family in India but grew up in Australia. He has post-graduate degrees in psychology and business communication. He has had two non-fiction books published about spirituality, and his third book is a novel called, ‘Circadian Web’, that was released world-wide by his UK-based publisher in August 2025 (view the Youtube book trailer here: https://tinyurl.com/5fnrazsv ).He has been interviewed by podcasters in the US, Canada, Australia and UK about his books.
Format
1:15pm – Arrive (feel free to bring your tea/coffee/muffin)
1:30pm – 1:45pm. Participants introduce themselves, their writing journeys (if any) and what they are hoping to get from the session.
1:45pm – 1:50pm. Participants agree on one or more topics for the session. Feel free to post your topic suggestions in the comments below prior to the meetup.
1:50pm – 2:50pm. Alistair facilitates a group discussion on agreed topic(s).

Dome Cloverdale, 237 Knutsford Avenue, Belmont Cinema Complex, Cloverdale, Cloverdale, AUJackbox games are party games that are all about creativity, guessing, and humour. To play them, you need to use your web browser on your mobile phone. You don't need an app.
This Meetup will start at 7 pm and go until 8:30 pm. We will be at the meeting room at Dome Belmont.
Below is a brief description of the games we typically play.
Guesspionage: Guess the percentage of people who’ve done a specific activity based on survey results. Earn points by making accurate estimations and predicting group votes.
Fibbage: Create believable but false answers to obscure trivia questions. Aim to make others believe your fib is true while picking the correct answer from a list of lies.
Drawful: Get bizarre prompts to draw on your devices. Others guess what the drawing represents. Earn points for accurate guesses and tricking others with your creative, incorrect descriptions.
Job Job: Answer interview questions using words from others’ responses. Create amusing and quirky answers. The audience and fellow players vote for the funniest responses.
Quiplash: Provide witty answers to prompts. The audience and fellow players vote for the funniest responses.

Join us for a relaxed and friendly walk around beautiful Galup. It’s the perfect way to stretch your legs, enjoy the scenery, and meet new friends; all while getting a bit of exercise! Whether you’re a seasoned walker or just getting started, everyone’s welcome. 🌿👟
We'll meet at one of the tables just over from the Telethon Speech and Hearing Centre and walk one lap of Galup together. We will wait 10 minutes for everyone to arrive and start walking at 5:55.
