One of the world's largest accessibility conferences, held in March 2026
We will be holding a debriefing session featuring reports from participants of the “CSUN Assistive Technology Conference,” which takes place every March in California, USA. Now in its 41st year, the “CSUN Assistive Technology Conference” is a major event that brings together accessibility experts, practitioners, people with various disabilities, assistive technology developers, and service providers from around the world.
This year, several members of the A11y Tokyo Meetup staff attended the conference, and we would like to share with you what we saw and heard there. Please note that the speakers are primarily involved in website and app development, so the content we share will focus on those areas. We appreciate your understanding in advance.
Topics will iclude:
Overview of the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference
Each speaker’s top session
Memorable exhibition booths, etc.
Accessible, Hybrid, Multilingual Meetup
A11yTokyo Meetup is a unique meetup that features various genres of 'accessibility', conducted in a hybrid format of on-site and online broadcasting, primarily in Japanese and English.
Many foreigners participate in the on-site venue in Tokyo, building networks through socialization sessions. We use the voice recognition technology app 'UD Talk' to provide real-time captions, and its automatic translation feature allows for multi-language subtitle translation.
In past Tokyo venues, many Japanese and foreigners have participated. The post-session networking opportunity is a chance to build a global network! Additionally, people from various countries participate online from both within Japan and abroad.
