What we’re about

Whether you are new to meditation, have been practicing for awhile or something in between, and regardless of religious affiliation, you are welcome to join us.

We offer meditation instruction, group meditation, and a space for discussion and exploration of topics related to our practice in a supportive community in the Shambhala tradition of mindful-awareness: a non-sectarian spiritual tradition rooted in Buddhism. Through our meditation we develop the possibility of meeting our everyday activities with awareness, peace, wisdom, compassion and a sense of humor.

The ongoing, drop-in meditation group will meet on Tuesday evenings starting at 7pm at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 4400 86th Avenue Southeast, Mercer Island, WA in the Chapel, enter at the front door, take the stairs to your right, the chapel is the first door on your left. Please bring your own cushion if you have one. There will also be chairs available for those who don’t have cushions or prefer sitting on a chair.

Our schedule is as follows:

7:00 – 7:10 Introductions and meditation instruction
7:10 – 7:45 Group meditation – including walking meditation
7:45 Tea followed by discussion
